Breathing and Empowerment Workshop for Women Audience: Women who want to feel more relaxed, confident and inspired to change their lives. Those ready to believe that they can start making those changes! About workshop: This two hour workshop will introduce you to the benefits of breathing exercises for relaxation, confidence and fitness. Perhaps you have heard that breathing is good for you, but don’t know how to start on this path to health? Now you can take your curiosity further with trained instructors who can guide you step-by-step through a range of easy to learn, yet effective, breathing exercises. They can help you start developing your technique and make you feel confident that you can start to use these exercises in your daily life. We will talk about stress, anxiety and burn-out and the negative effects they can have on your health. We will introduce you to some physical exercises that can accompany our breathing techniques to help make your body more strong and supple. We will show you some of our self defence secrets that help you look and feel more empowered in stressful circumstances, and we will even show you a few of our self defence techniques if you wanted to feel more ‘street confident’! About KIXA Central Power breathing and KIXA Self Defence: Our breathing exercises are based on a 5,000 year old system that was originally designed to protect oneself against the harsh, natural elements. Today, KIXA’s ‘spiritual’ home is Mount Bromo, East Java, Indonesia where we lead student training trips. Unlike many breathing classes, we don’t rely on just one breathing technique, we have a whole host of breathing techniques that can be used to strengthen different parts of the body and relax the mind. For example, our instructors can channel their trained breathing powers to break a brick with their feet without receiving pain on injury – the techniques are that powerful! At the core of KIXA breathing is finding one’s focus and concentration, often difficult in today’s hectic lives. The ultimate aim through our breathing is to attain and keep a peaceful mentality. KIXA Self Defence is a non-combative, uncomplicated form of protection. KIXA has helped hundreds of women from all different cultures and walks of life to reduce stress, conquer phobias, escape and recover from the effects from domestic violence, manage relationships more positively and calmly, deal with life changes, pass exams, change career and get fit. The possibilities for your well-being are endless! Our philosophy is that we believe every woman has the right to feel relaxed, confident and without fear. We are a not-for profit organisation.

Heather: I started learning KIXA breathing 15 years when I turned up to a KIXA Self Defence class. I used to go home each night after work and feel really drained. I wanted to re-energise myself so started a class that I thought would just make me feel fitter and have the added bonus of learning self defence. However, I became fascinated by the KIXA Central Power breathing aspect as I felt so alive after each session. It made me ‘wake up’ my whole life and gave me confidence to explore different career options. I have now been teaching KIXA classes for over 12 years to share the benefits to other women. Heather runs Ensty Breathing and Fitness Club in Bedfordshire.
Catherine: I have been teaching women only Kixa classes for the past four years and have been lucky enough to have the chance to train and study in East Java. I had never undertaken any kind of exercise class before I started learning Kixa at the age of 40 - so please don't feel that your situation or experiences have to place limits on what you can achieve. I love how KIXA can help women in particular to claim space within their lives to be peaceful, to recognise their inner strength and really blossom with confidence.
